Services

Content & Copy Editing Services

• Includes two rounds of edits—an initial review and then a second edit after your first revisions.

• Extensive edits include but are not limited to comments & suggestions on plot, structure (story & scene), conflict, pacing, characterization, goals & motivation, dialogue, setting, clarity/readability, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

• This service should result in a fully revised manuscript, ready for submission or self-publication.

• Please note, if you submit a manuscript in what would be considered “rough-draft” form, I will not be able to complete content or copy editing services. I will offer to perform a manuscript critique instead, but there is no obligation for the author to accept.

Manuscript Review:

• A full review of the first five chapters of your manuscript that includes personalized comments and suggestions on your writing techniques (craft issues) and overall story concept. Suggestions on plot, characterization, pacing, character goals and motivation, conflict, and pacing. The review will be delivered in PDF form via email within 7-10 days, depending on my schedule at the time. You will need to submit a synopsis or outline of your story, as well, if you want more extensive feedback.

Mentoring Services

• Monthly. No long-term committment.

• Includes an initial 30-minute call to discuss your knowledge of writer’s craft and your work-in-progress, as well as any difficulties you may be experiencing and your current goals.

• A manuscript critique (first 5 chapters) with personalized feedback. If you continue to renew, I’ll do an additional 5 chapters each month.

• An emailed list of writing exercises, personal activities, readings, educational material, and customized guidance based on the information you provided during the initial call. May include access to online courses or ebooks, as well.

• Once-weekly, 15-minute calls to check on your progress and revise your game plan.

• Ability to email me with questions or for advice at any time. Ability to send portions of your manuscript, an outline, or a synopsis for targeted feedback. Emails are answered within 24 hours.

• Duration is one month with the option to renew.

Please be aware, I am a solo-prenuer, so I must create a schedule and work to stick to it. All services require a small ($20) non-refundable downpayment, and if you don’t finance the remainder of your purchase, your balance will be due upon completion and delivery of the manuscript critique or content/copy edits. In the case of mentoring services, the cost per month is due at the time we sign a contract. For now, the “Book” buttons are disabled. I hope to have online scheduling available soon.
